Welcome to the March 2010 issue of the Gazette

This issue includes articles and MAPACA’s call for papers for its upcoming conference. The
conference will be in Alexandria, Virginia during the last weekend of
October. We hope to see you there.

In addition, we have a fabulous exhibition of paintings by Thomas
Sarrantonio. There are two reviews. One, by Nicholas Schonberger, is about
the trials and tribulations of displaying tattoos entitled “Flash on the
Walls: Exhibiting “Tattoo” in American Museums”. The second concerns a more
traditional art exhibition, “Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of China’s
First Emperor”, by Alison Fleming. Both offer food for thought as does
Frank Rooney’s Dostoevsky’s “The Grand Inquisitor” as 21st Century
Prophet”. It is quite provocative.

Please enjoy the March 2010 issue of the “Gazette”.

We also encourage you to submit items to the Gazette. Reviews (books, plays, films, music), interviews, essays, critiques and opinion pieces an any subject are welcome. You could also submit an exhibition or performance piece for consideration. Please contact Loretta Lorance, the Gazette editor, with any questions or feedback. Thanks for reading our newsletter.
